Introducing UNEasy – Students helping students do it the EASY way!

Synopsis

What is it?

  • An additional section on the current ASO website for 20-minute vlogs made by UNE students.
  • These are supported by 20 second comic teasers which appear on a variety of UNE social media platforms.
  • A UNEasy host supports each student, “appearing” alongside them in their homes as an AVATAR.

Can I see a pilot video and teaser?

Of course, you can! Please click the OneDrive sharefile

Who developed the pilot?

This concept is the work of:

  • Mr Mark Graham, MEC candidate and PASS@UNE ECON101 leader
  • Dr. Huifang Li, Une Lecturer, Academic Skills

Why is it needed?

  • We need to use a variety of approaches to reach students with study advice and help.
  • It is motivating for students to hear from their peers.
  • Provides a fast response to technological change.

How can it be made sustainable?

  • 15 hours paid time per month for the UNEasy host to collaborate with one student volunteer per month in the production of each video and teaser.
  • Support is provided by the university for final editing, mastering and promotion.
  • UNE student clubs and societies tender for the contract on a yearly basis. They produce the videos and choose the host and the AVATAR.
